Hi all, two posts from me in three days…must be a record! In yesterdays Warlord Games newsletter, there is a battle report featured using one of my Sconce / Star Fort (along with a Ravelin) models as the main objective of the scenario. Excellently painted (not by me), was it any one of you nice people? A good read, I have added the link here: http://articles.warlordgames.com/pike-shotte-great-sconce/
Well it’s been a long time! Sorry all and thanks for your patience as I haven’t posted for quite a while… I have been very busy over the last few months and have finally taken on another ‘apprentice’ so I have started to catch up. OK news… I have been working on some large orders for Warlord Games, who have increased the range of my products they stock. Very soon you will be able to purchase from them the fully painted versions of the following 28mm resin models: 16th/19th century – Lunette Bolt Action – AT or HMG position Bolt Action – Indirect Artillery emplacement The AT and IA models are available in both european/temperate and arid/desert versions. They should appear in their newsletter soon.
Hello all! Just up on the website and available now, my latest resin model: Ploughed Field (28mm) The first in an expanding range of terrain pieces, this would be suitable for use from ancient Europe to the modern day. Modelled to look like it was ploughed with horse or oxen etc, featuring no straight edges and all the furrows and trenches are slightly irregular in both length, height and shape. Priced at £9 unpainted, £18 painted, £24 painted & planted http://www.paulsmodellingworkshop.com/model/ploughed-field-28mm/
Hi all, the first casting painted for the start of a new range of resin terrain items – 28mm ploughed field – usable practically everywhere and at any time. It came out well, the mould is good and the casting is totally flat, which is the main thing! I have a few more samples to cast – the next one will probably have some crops added……

Latest WIP photos. I am currently updating the masters for my zig zag trench/earthwork system. I have added a lot more sand bags, corrugated iron sheets and vertical logs for variety and to give it that ‘ad hoc’ appearance. The originally planking – where it can still be seen, has been distressed and wood grain detail added. I hope to get some finished pics up soon. This version is the replacement for my current model and will stay at the same price.

Hello all, My latest addition to the 16-18th century European and American 28mm ranges: Breached Courtine sections. Cast in resin and available painted or unpainted. These are designed to replace the standard sections in either version of the Star Fort or in linear courtine defences. All the details and prices are now on my website here: http://www.paulsmodellingworkshop.com/model/breached-courtine-sections-28mm/
These are the first painted picture of the AT tank position I was working on last month. One painted for Europe and one for North Africa. In the background are the reinforced shell holes….
I am adding a couple of ‘breached’ sections to the range of Courtine pieces. Here are pictures of both masters – one for both the four and five sided Star Fort.
The mould for the bastion in my Star Fort finally collapsed so I have been rebuilding the master. This has given me the opportunity to add some extra detailing: 1. I have lowered slightly the overall height of the banks, so figures can now see over. 2. I have beefed up the sloped walls and made them slightly more irregular. 3. I have added extra logs around the gun ports. 4. I have added more wood grain detail to all the planking. Hopefully you can see some of this in the attached pictures. First new castings tonight, wish me luck!
A couple of WIP pictures showing two small defensive positions based on shell holes or craters with added sandbags. These will be in resin and part of my 20th century range. Each will take up to a 45mm diameter base – ie for a two man MG/Mortar/Sniper Team etc.
Some WIP pictures of two new masters I am working on – both for my 20th Century 28mm resin range – Artillery Emplacement and Anti-Tank position. These should be available in the new year.
The silicone mould for my Breastwork Set 1 (28mm) has finally lost the will to live and decided to fall apart! I’m not too sad considering i have cast over ninety full sets as well as various extra pieces from it. At least it has given me the opportunity to add some extra detailing – I am increasing the banking at the front and extra wood grain on the planking as you can see in the picture. I have also decided to add an extra two 90 degree angle pieces to the set as I often get asked for more of these. There may be a slight increase in price sometime in the future but for now the price will stay the same – so in effect you will get two extra pieces for free.
“Collecting Ammo” Weather was bad enough this weekend to add another mini vignette to my collection, 28mm ECW/TYW artillery figures by Warlord Games and Perry Miniatures.
Finally had some time to paint a few figures for my own collection. Pike & Shotte Siege Engineers and Artillery Crew by Warlord Games. No bright colours for these fellows, I kept the colour palette simple and subdued. As it’s raining I might do a few more
Good afternoon all, well I have finally managed to do it…….it would have been quicker but my maths isn’t what it was! Took me a while to work out the angles required. Let me present the Five Pointed Star Fort (28mm): Completely cast in resin this will be available in two versions, as a complete kit and also as an conversion set for those who already have the four sided Star Fort. It’s a bit of a beast measuring in at apx 30″ (660mm) diameter. Additional information and prices can be found on my website here: http://www.paulsmodellingworkshop.com/model/five-pointed-star-fort-28mm/ Now to work on the 15mm version……..
This is a first for me in resin – 15mm or 1/100 scale models. Just finished painting these test castings today and I’m very happy with they way they turned out. I feel I have managed to keep the same level of detail in these as with my 28mm range – see what you think. So far I have; Ravelin, Lunette, Breastworks, Artillery Earthworks I will be adding to the range with a Gun Bastion & Star Fort. Should have full details and prices of these listed on my Website at the weekend. Here are the some pictures of the painted castings.

I have been meaning to share these pics for a while now. From a customer of mine Sean Gage who produced this wonderful diorama. I shall let him explain it in his own words: “If you remember I bought some of your shell craters not so long ago and promised some photos when the diorama was finished. It represents a section of the Cambrai battlefield and features 2 MKIV tanks – male & female (the latter with a fascine) approaching the wire belt. The fascine was made using the bristles cut from a cheap stiff carpet brush. The un-ditching beams were also scratch built using various styrene components and Milliput. For general weathering including your craters I used the Mr Hobby weatheriing “pencils” which were very effective and I think were better in this situation than washes. I used three of your craters and decided that they should be “old” partly filled with black mud. I’m very pleased with your products – so many thanks..” No, thank you Sean! Very inspiring!
